I know I need to get caught up on the past month and a half of my illness and what tests I’ve endured etc., but today this is what is on my mind and I can tie it in to my illness just fine thank-you very much :)

Since my Doctor is not allowing me to work at this point and I am too tired to really do anything of significance I spend an inappropriate amount of time surfing the net, watching T.V and listening to the radio.  This I do between naps …  which I am proud to say I now only sleep 10 hours a night and one nap a day … for about 30 to 90 minutes depending on the day.

You might ask what this has to do with Jim Richards … well … radio … This is where Jamie aka Jim Richards comes in; I listen to his radio show on CFRB from 10 to noon weekdays.  I listen because my former partner at work got me hooked on him ages and ages ago.  We used to listen online when he used to be on late night and encourage his drunk and crazy callers, we’d laugh our asses off whilst doing our paper work.  I listen because the man is still seriously funny and most of the time I agree with the viewpoint he is representing on his show.   The odd time when I don’t agree I REALLY don’t agree which is fun, of course.  :)

Now you’re asking me how a radio show that hasn’t failed me yet … but has managed to hold my interest day in and day out (not an easy task btw) could possibly be bad for my health … well you see that is THE QUESTION … it might be, or it might not be … and I can’t decide … 

Fact 1.  I have a thyroid tumour that applies pressure to my trachea, larynx and carotid artery 

Fact 2.  The Jim Richards Showgram is freakin’ funny

Fact 3.  Laughter is supposedly the best medicine for what ails you … it is supposed to raise healing hormones and biochemicals in our body as well as elevate mood, another plus in any long term illness.

Fact 4.  When I laugh the tumour applies even more pressure from the muscular mov’t in my neck, thus causing a laryngeal spasm that means  I cannot breath, swallow or speak until said spasm is done.

So this is what I am wondering … if James makes me laugh on a regular basis … is he …

A.  Contributing to my illness by denying me oxygen

OR

B. Contributing to my well being in making me laugh???

Don’t write to me and state the obvious … Stop listening therefore no more spasms … this is not really a complaint, but my attempt at a little levity here folks … a truthful, but humourous observation on my condition instead of a poor me I have cancer moment … and besides .. I”m not likely to give up something I enjoy anyhow … :)  ***

Man in hospital after GTA theatre plunge – Canada – Canoe.ca

If a teenager would have done this, I would feel sad … a young dumb kid showing off with his friends, the consequences of the folly of youth … this was, by the numbers anyhow, a grown man … sorrow for his friends and family but what an irresponsible dumb ass! :(

Friend twitter posted this … Fine Art Nude in Church Gallery featuring various UK Glamour Models Nude and Nearly Nude in Church

It started a discussion on whether or not this art is blasphemous … I found some of the pics well done, some I dismissed as cheesy (i.e. not well done, nor imaginative) soft porn … but I did feel a couple of the shots to be disrespectful … even if the artist and his models didn’t hold the faith that this building represents to be part of their own truth … they should have respected that others obviously see this building as sacred and not just a set for a photo shoot.
